You can support Mersey Kidney First in number of different ways. You can make a donation on line through Virgin Money Giving or by sending a cheque through the post; you can take part in one of our events, or your own event and raise money through sponsorship, or even give a regular monthly donation. If you do wish to support us, all the information you will need is here on the website, or for more support with fundraising and events contact us direct at Central Office.
Donations can be sent by cheque or postal order to Central Office, made payable to Mersey Kidney First. We do not recommend sending cash through the post. If you have access to a printer you can download our Donation Form to accompany your cheque.
You may wish to set up a Standing Order, which is an agreement between you and your bank to make a regular monthly donation to MKF. If you wish to do this then please download our Standing Order Form.
Once complete send it to us Mersey Kidney First, North West Cancer Research Centre, 200 London Road, Liverpool, L3 9TA.

By making a Will a person makes things easier for those they leave, since the Executors appointed by the Will ensure that one’s wishes are carried out. If you have not yet made a Will, you would be well advised to consult a solicitor. If you have already made a Will, you could amend it by a simple document called a codicil.
“I give or bequeath to the Mersey Kidney First of Room 5,367 Department of Medicine, University Clinical Department, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool L69 3GA, the sum of £……. for the general charitable purposes of the said Association. I declare that the said sum shall be paid free of tax and that the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officer shall be sufficient discharge thereof”.
“I give the whole of my Estate not otherwise disposed of by this my Will (subject to and after payment of my funeral and testamentary expenses) to the ersey Kidney First of Room 5,367 Department of Medicine, University Clinical Department, Royal Liverpool University Hospital, Liverpool L69 3GA for the general purposes of the said Association and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other authorised officer will be sufficient discharge thereof”.
A variation of a residuary bequest, sometimes called reversionary legacy, would leave an estate or a share in an estate to the Mersey Regional Association for Kidney Research after the death of a dependant.
Gifts to the Mersey Kidney First and other registered charities are entirely free of Inheritance Tax whether they are made during the lifetime of the donor or by Will. Your solicitor will be able to explain to you the ways in which either a lifetime gift or a legacy could reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax which would otherwise be payable on your Estate.
If you wish either to leave part of your Estate to the Association or to amend your existing Will by adding a codicil, then we would recommend you consult your own solicitor.
